How do I get a Proposal or an Estimate for a fence?
Contact our professional office personnel either by phone or e-mail and they will be glad to schedule a FREE appointment.

How do I place an order?
After receiving a Proposal or Estimate in writing, sign the contract and complete the Contract Terms form. We ask for 1/3 down, unless otherwise stated.

How do I pay the Balance and/or Payments?
On multiple-day jobs, on arrival the first day next 1/3 is due and on last day of installation the balance is due.

What happens when Herdt Fencing calls for an NJ Markout?
An NJ Markout notifies all the public utilities in your area that we will be digging. An NJ Markout does NOT mark Irrigation Systems, Pool Lines, Gas or Electric to Garage or Pool, Private Well or Septic, etc.

Do I need a permit and who gets the permit?
Yes, every township requires a permit for a fence. The homeowner is responsible for getting all permits.

Do I need Property Markers?
Yes, Property Markers are needed for installation to determine Property Lines. If any Property Markers cannot be located; it is recommended that the Customer have the property surveyed. If the Customer wishes for Herdt Fencing Inc., to continue with the installation process without the Property Lines, under no circumstances does Herdt Fencing, Inc. assume any responsibility or in any way guarantee the accuracy of the fence line.

Do I need to cut any trees or bushes?
The fence line should be clear of all debris! If you have any questions, please ask your Sales Representative.

Do I need to be home when the fence is erected?
Customers or their representatives must be present at the beginning of their job to approve string lines.

Do I have a warranty on the fence?
Herdt Fencing, Inc. agrees to guarantee its workmanship and that its fence will be free from defects in materials for one year. Because wood is a natural substance, Herdt Fencing, Inc. cannot be held responsible for natural shrinking and twisting of wood material. Likewise, Herdt Fencing, Inc. will not be held responsible for damage created by adverse weather conditions or abusive usage.

American Fence Association provides a professional, competitive and successful program that establishes and maintains the integrity of the fence industry. Herdt Fencing, Inc. has been a member for more than a decade.

I am getting a pool; do I need a fence?
The state for NJ requires a fence around your pool to meet BOCA code, which is a minimum height of 48", minimum spacing of 1 1/4", and all gates to be self-closing and latching.

Does Herdt Fencing, Inc. manufacture Cedar Wood Fence?
Yes, Canadian White and Red Cedar Fencing is manufactured on premises.
